Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People’s Committee, Provincial People’s Council and provincial Fatherland Front Committee launched a campaign on October 20 to call for donations to residents hit by floods in the central region.
 
Present at the event were Nguyen Khac Dinh, Central Party Committee Member, Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Secretary; Nguyen Khac Toan, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Vice-Secretary of Provincial Party Committee; ; Nguyen Tan Tuan, Vice-Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ha Quoc Tri, Vice-Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee; and Tran Ngoc Thanh, Chief of Provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization; Chairman of Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and leaders of the province, departments and agencies.

At a launching ceremony, Tran Ngoc Thanh reported that the recent floods triggered by prolonged heavy rain caused massive losses, especially to the provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue and Ha Tinh, leaving more than 100 dead and missing; destroying thousands of homes and hectares of crops, and leading to severe travel disruption. Thousands of homes are in dire need of assistance. 
 
Therefore, on behalf of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Tran Ngoc Thanh called for donations from local departments and agencies, businesses and religious institutions, individuals and organizations to help flood-hit residents to recover from the natural disaster.
 
At the ceremony, Nguyen Tan Tuan expressed condolences to the families of victims and urged local departments and organizations to mobilize civil servants and laborers to donate in support of the flood-stricken communities.
 
At the ceremony, more than 180 organizations and individuals in the province donated more than VND406 million, including VND328 million in cash and more than VND68 million registered for donation.
