Traffic safety education has been provided by local agencies and organizations in many schools across Khanh Hoa Province to help improve students’ awareness of road safety.
 
Nha Trang City Traffic Safety & Security Police Division together with the Police’s Youth Union has held traffic safety propaganda sessions at Tan Lap 1 Primary School, Nha Trang City. The education content varies among age groups to help make road safety an interesting and engaging topic. Propaganda focuses on importance of wearing helmets on motorcycles; parents and schools’ responsibilities for keeping children safe on roads at primary schools; on abiding by road traffic laws such as wearing motorbike helmets, obeying traffic light signals; ages for riding electric motorcycles, scooters, motorcycles, etc at high schools, according to Lieutenant-Colonel Le Buu Tho, Vice-Head of Nha Trang City Traffic and Security Police Division.

4 propaganda sessions have been held for 2,600 students since the beginning of the academic year 2020 – 2021. The traffic safety propaganda is expected to be held regularly at schools in Khanh Hoa Province, focusing from now until the end of September, committed to reducing traffic rule offences, raising awareness and attitudes among school staff, teachers and students toward traffic safety and urging their families to obey road traffic laws, according to Senior Lieutenant Le Ba Khanh, Secretary of Nha Trang City Police’s Youth Union.
 
Besides traffic law propaganda, first-graders in Khanh Hoa were offered helmets by Head Honda at the beginning of the year to increase the number of children wearing helmets. Specifically, Head Honda Thuan Phat, Thuan Phat 2 offered 180 helmets to kids at Vinh Luong Primary School, Nha Trang City; and 200 helmets at Dien Dien Primary School, Dien Dien Commune, Dien Khanh District. Head Honda has also cooperated with Nha Trang College of Tourism’s Youth Union provided traffic safety knowledge and training for over 1,000 students.
 
Since the beginning of the year, Khanh Hoa Youth Union has implemented a plan to organize traffic safety propaganda activities to districts, towns and Youth Union affiliations; focusing on coordinating to organize traffic safety sessions for members, young people, especially the 12th-graders at high schools; integrating traffic safety rules by using visual aids, illustrations, Infographics, etc on social networks; organizing traffic safety contests, shows, etc. In order to raise young people’s awareness of traffic safety, in the coming time, the Provincial Youth Union will launch the “Young people with traffic culture” Day across the province; propagandizing traffic safety laws; training safe driving skills; commending outstanding youth volunteers and youth models engaging in ensuring traffic safety, etc, says Bui Hoai Nam, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Youth Union.
