Moon Festival celebration reaching out to children in mountainous areas

Khanh Hoa Youth Union and Comrade Association are going to organize several activities to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival or Moon Festival 2020, especially in mountainous and disadvantaged communities. 
 
According to Bui Hoai Nam, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Youth Union, the provincial Youth Union and Comrade Association are going to celebrate the Moon Festival and the journey enjoying the moon night festival for children in mountainous areas, seeking donations to offer gifts and moon cakes to 6,000 primary school children in mountainous communes in Khanh Hoa Province this year.
 
Accordingly, the activities will include organizing cultural and musical activities, moon festivals, parties, lantern procession; offering gifts, lanterns, cakes and candies to children; seeking donations to support funding to buy gifts, moon cakes, school uniforms, footwear, etc; constructing and upgrading playgrounds in residential areas and schools in disadvantaged communities; boosting propaganda to raise public awareness of responsibility to join effort in child care in mountainous areas.
 
Specifically, most activities are scheduled to take place in all communities in Khanh Hoa, especially at schools in mountainous, remote and disadvantaged areas from September 26 to November 1. The Youth Union and Comrade Association at provincial level will focus on activities for children in the 2 mountainous districts of Khanh Vinh and Khanh Son.
 
The provincial Youth Union will organize the journey enjoying the moon night festival for children in Khanh Son with festive activities and gift offer on September 29; in Khanh Vinh District on September 30 with such exciting activities as musical programs, a moon night feast, gift offer; fruit tray decoration and lantern making contests, etc. The provincial Youth Union has launched a lantern-making contest to its affiliations in Khanh Hoa. The final round is scheduled to take place in Khanh Vinh District. Similarly, the fruit tray decoration contest will also be held to bring a hilarious festive environment to kids in Khanh Vinh.
 
Moreover, the Comrade Association and Children’s House will hold a ceremony to inaugurate and hand over a playground construction at Khanh Vinh District Children’s House. The construction is worth VND350 million, community funded. The construction is to provide more places for children in the district to play, have fun and develop physical well-being.
