VK Hospital, Nha Trang City opened new examination and treatment ward and signed a cooperation agreement between 22-12 Hospital and Cuban Medical Service SMC – Cuba on June 20. Present at the event was Nguyen Tan Tuan, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Indira Lopez Arguelles, Consul General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City.
 
The newly opened examination and treatment ward contains 9 storeys and 1 basement in an area of 15.000 m2 with 100 beds.  The total investment cost is VND250 billion. There are well-equipped reception room, examination room, sub-clinical diagnosis ward, pharmacy booth, special care room, 2 aesthetics rooms, 6 operation rooms and in-patients’ rooms.

When put into operation, the new examination and treatment ward will provide in-patient and out-patient treatment service at the hospital; intensive screening of such diseases as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, stroke, musculoskeletal system diseases, gastrointestinal cancers, etc.
 
Together with the new examination and treatment ward, VK Hospital also has 4 self-contained examination and treatment wards with 100 beds. The hospital provides out-patient treatmnent for 100,000 arrivals, in-patient treatment for more than 5,000; operation for 6,650 cases, including severe cases of joint replacement, finger joint, laparoscopic surgery, etc every year since 2018.
 
Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Tan Tuan highly appreciated the effort of the hospital in medical care and asked the hospital to boost training, research and cooperation with medical instructions at home and abroad; enhance technology innovation and improvement of facilities as well as medical staff’s professional skills and medical ethics.
 
On this occasion, VK Hospital and SMC – Cuba signed a memorandum of understanding on specialized training and invited Cuban experts to work at the hospital.
