The regional initiative project towards elimination of Artemisinin resistant malaria has just reviewed the past term 2019 and defined direction for 2020.

In 2019, the project provided 16,000 malaria test kits, 960 mosquito nets, 3,070 mosquito hammocks; held 15 training courses for more than 230 learners of malaria diagnosis, report, surveillance; together with outbreak investigation and epidemiological monitoring boost, etc.

94 cases of malaria were reported in 2019, down by 25% compared with  the precious year with no deaths. The project target in 2020 is to assure everyone’s access to early malaria diagnosis and treatment at public and private medical institutions; boost effective malaria prevention and control measures for those at risk; enhance epidemiological monitoring systems; assure disease prevention and control capacities, raise public awareness and change community behaviors towards malaria.

The regional initiative project towards elimination of Artemisinin resistant malaria, period 2018-2020, is sponsored by the Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculosis & Malaria. Khanh Hoa is among beneficiaries from the project which is designed to reduce malaria cases and deaths as well as meet sustainable health development goals in Vietnam.
