Khanh Hoa Youth Union at all levels has organized various activities in a burden-sharing effort to help those impacted by COVID-19.


A resident named Cao Sang in Khanh Trung Commune, Khanh Vinh District has received free rice at Khanh Vinh Children’s House. “We are told about the rice delivery for the poor, so we came here very early. Each person is given 2kg of rice. We are so happy,” he says.

In order to help the poor in the district during the pandemic, Khanh Vinh District Youth Union in cooperation with the district Radio & Television Station under Khanh Hoa Center for Culture, Information & Sports set up an automatic rice dispenser location on April 25. Accordingly, each person was given 2kg of rice.

Cao Thi Ngoc Thanh, Secretary of Khanh Vinh District says on April 24, the organizing board provided rice for locals in the communes of Khanh Trung, Khanh Thanh, Khanh Phu, Song Cau, Khanh Nam, Cau Ba and Khanh Vinh Town. The rice dispenser will be moved to the 2 communes of Lien Sang and Khanh Binh to help remaining communities. More than 4,000 people are expected to receive rice for free. Around 9 tons of rice has been donated to the charity program to help the needy in remote areas. The program has continued seeking donation to help those in need.


An automatic dispensing machine was installed in Suoi Dau Industrial Zone by Khanh Hoa Youth Union; Youth Federation in cooperation with the provincial Confederation of Labor on April 23, providing free rice for poor workers and residents. The machine distributed a 3kg bagful of rice to each person. Besides, Khanh Hoa Youth Union together with other agencies has donated 16 tons of rice to the program.


Vo Binh Nguyen and his wife in Son Tan Commune, Cam Lam District are both workers at Suoi Dau Industrial Zone. Since the Covid-19 outbreak, their work was cut by half. Struggling financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they are so delighted to receive free rice from the rice ATM.


Several Youth Union affiliations have organized many activities within a series of COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control approaches to help the vulnerable. Nha Trang City Youth Union jointly with Vinh Truong Ward Youth Union has offered gifts to 20 vulnerable older people in Vinh Truong Ward. District-level Youth Union afflictions, namely Cam Ranh City Youth Union, Van Ninh District Youth Union, Khanh Son District Youth Union, etc have installed rice ATMs to provide free rice for the needy.


Rice ATMs are set up by most of the Youth Union at district and town levels. Besides, local Youth Union affiliations have also held many activities to help needy people during the coronavirus pandemic. Khanh Hoa Youth Union has received 10 tons of rice from Phuc Son Corporation to help the poor. The rice will be put into the dispensing machine to help the needy in the district. Khanh Hoa Youth Union has continued seeking for more donations to help locals navigate the COVID-19 crisis, accordingly Bui Hoai Nam, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Youth Union, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Youth Federation.
