The mission of National Steering Board for Natural Disaster Prevention & Control led by Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Vice-Minister of Agriculture & Rural Development, a member of the National Steering Board for Natural Disaster Prevention & Control has taken a trip to check evacuation tasks in Xom Nui, Thanh Phat Village, Phuoc Dong Commune, Nha Trang City ahead of Nakri Storm. Local residents in dangerous areas must be forced to evacuate for safety.
 
320 families with 1,277 people, including 200 families in Thanh Phat Village and 70 others in Thanh Dat Village, are expected to evacuate due to landslide risk, reports Bui Cao Phap, Vice-Chairman of Phuoc Dong Commune People’s Committee.

There are 88 landslide-prone areas with 3,707 homes (15,406 people) in Nha Trang City. 365 homes (1,433 people) in Vinh Ngoc, Phuoc Dong, Van Thanh, Vinh Phuong, Ngoc Hiep, Vinh Nguyen, Ngoc Hiep were evacuated by noon November 10, according to Nha Trang City People’s Committee.
  
In Khanh Hoa, 627 families with 2,331 people in Khanh Hoa were evacuated from dangerous places by noon today. Aquafarms have been reinforced. Aquaculturists were urged to come ashore by 3p.m on November 10, according to Khanh Hoa Steering Board for Flood Control, Natural Disaster Relief & Rescue.
 
The Vice-Minister highly appreciated the local storm response tasks and warned of possible heavy rain, resulting in risks of flooding and landslide in Khanh Hoa. Therefore, all the residents in Xom Nui and high-risk areas are strongly urged to follow the emergency evacuation order for safety, he said.
