New roads of great significance

Any one of these spectacularly scenic road trips will remind you that the journey can be just as much fun as the destination. Passing Cao Ba Quat Street and then crossing Quan Truong River, you will reach a new avenue named Vo Nguyen Giap, 11km long and 60m wide. It is really one of the highlights of Nha Trang beach city, apart from Nguyen Tat Thanh Avenue that Nha Trang residents used to be proud of.

The flycam can let you fly over 700m and have a bird-eye view of a vast stretch of the new avenue with new residential zones lined with graceful high-rise buildings. The roundabouts are beautifully decorated with flags and flowers together with the Tac River Rail Bridge, creating gorgeous scenery.

The 1.5km Phong Chau Street running parallel to Vo Nguyen Giap brings nice looks at western Nha Trang residential area together with a dome bridge, 330m long, 16m wide, comprising 3 main spans and 6 short abutment spans, crossing the Quang Truong River.

Quan Truong Bridge is among the most preeminent high-tech dome bridges. This is the third dome bridge, after the 2 others in Ben Tre and Kien Giang. The belt road 2 crossing Vo Nguyen Giap and Phong Chau Streets is taking shape. The road is more than 11km long stretching from Binh Tan Bridge running along the romantic Quan Truong River to the point of convergence at the turnabout Ngoc Hoi-23-10 Street with the ending point on the National Road 1C, apposite Khanh Hoa Vehicle Register Center. The 2 projects have a total capital of more than VND2,300 billion.

Le Thanh Truc, Vice-Director of the Management Board of Projects on Agriculture & Rural Development says Vo Nguyen Giap Street and Phong Chau Street have a total capital of over VND2,200 billion. These new streets are expected to open new opportunities for the growth of Nha Trang – Dien Khanh, connecting satellite covered areas, following the traffic planning in the trend of the city widening to the west.

To tackle the traffic jam in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa has signed a decision to build 15 traffic crossings connecting to Nha Trang Airport. The project has a capital of nearly VND1.000 billion. The projects are being sped up and some crossings are basically completed. The crossings will be put into use in 2019, says Chau Ngo Anh Nhan, Director of Khanh Hoa Management Board of Development Projects.

Development prospects

Nguyen Van Dan, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Transportation says in less than 2 years, many new routes have opened in the city, marking the city transport infrastructure improvement. The opening of such roads as Vo Nguyen Giap and Phong Chau has helped ease the traffic pressure on the 23-10 Street during rush hours due to increasing number of tourists and high traffic volume as well as creating new scenic traffic highlight for the inner city. Also, residential areas in Western Nha Trang are being formed, creating a strong development momentum for Nha Trang coastal city.

The new routes and crossings connecting to Nha Trang City are expected to basically solve the inner city traffic problems in 2019. In the meantime, the belt road 2 will be finished in the next years, ensuring efficient north-south transport connection, painting a new image of Nha Trang City.

The high-tech projects worth thousands of billions dongs completed and underway have breakthroughs in attracting investment, creating a driving force for the city to develop with new residential areas, contributing to improving the environment, creating landscapes and bettering the living standards of people in Nha Trang City.
