The university has boosted creative and scientific research among students. The university managing board has assigned its Youth Union to develop scientific inquiry tasks. Each faculty has at least one academic club to further scientific research opportunities. In order to inspire students' interest and participation in science and start-up projects, Nha Trang University founded the club for specific research, start-up and overseas study in June, 2018, providing opportunities for students to exchange and learn knowledge and skills to navigate through the scientific process from experts and experienced researchers.

The University Youth Union has remained activities of 10 English-speaking clubs, helping students to improve their English that helps facilitate access to scientific research books and other materials. Specially, the club has provided scientific research support for students in 2 ways, directing school-level projects or joining lecturers on big projects. The club has continued providing support in job search and graduate scholarship application abroad for students with achievements in scientific research. So far, 10 students have been helped to successfully apply for the study funding, which has inspired students to make further effort in study and research. The support club for scientific research, start-up and overseas study has been working effectively thanks to the constancy of over 20 lecturers and business owners, according to Nguyen The Han, Secretary of Nha Trang University Youth Union.

The Youth Union has recently cooperated with the Office of Science & Technology to provide information and guidance for scientific research process. Students were guided to get involved with the complete process of scientific research from identifying a problem to taking necessary skills and steps, including demonstration and judgment together with recognizing common research errors and how to avoid them, etc.

The university Students’ Association has just launched the start-up creative contest for students with the final round scheduled to be held in April. Prize-winning initiatives will be provided funding by the university for further development, reports Nguyen The Han.
