Nha Trang City Women’s Union has fulfilled its role and has been recognized to have taken the lead in the women campaign 2018 in Khanh Hoa, contributing to the local socio-economic development.
Outstanding affiliations
Vinh Phuoc Ward Women’s Union has 3,715 members, including 129 currently without work or with low income. The union has provided pastry and bakery training courses for the disadvantaged. Nguyen Thi Thuy Thuy, Chairperson of Vinh Phuoc Ward Women’s Union says, “We have opened party service to create work for our members and contacted restaurants or centers in Nha Trang City to introduce about our service. Every year, we receive some 50-100 orders, bringing an average income of VND3.5-4.5 million/ person.”

Loc Tho Ward Women’s Union has organized various activities in response to the Year of Food Safety 2018 such as jointly providing food safety training for 45 food businesses and street vendors; propagandizing the Food Safety Law to 1,302 members; integrating propaganda of food safety, nutrition, disease prevention at meetings for 1,048 members; and founding the Club of Women with Traffic Safety with 50 members. Besides, the union has also mobilized its members to continue expanding the models of growing safe vegetables and making safe food for their families, says the leader of Loc Tho Ward Women’s Union.
The Women’s Unions of Vinh Phuoc Ward and Loc Tho Ward are among several outstanding units fulfilling the union tasks and women’s campaign.
Achievements
In 2018, Nha Trang City Women’s Union has focused on raising the effectiveness of social supervision and criticism; policy recommendations, bettering women's life and improving organization activities, including providing business start-up support, building happy and healthy families, joining new rural construction, guaranteeing economic development loans with the balance of more than VND200 billion for 15,582 members; mobilizing 55,384 families to buy voluntary health insurance; providing 33 means of livelihood for women, making job recommendation for 1,526 women and maintaining 584 saving mutual support groups, according to the city Women’s Union.
1,840/1,840 officials and 36,884/40,091 members have been recognized with the title “outstanding women”. In 2018, Nha Trang City Women’s Union has directed its affiliations to follow the assigned plan, programs and emulation covenants attracting the participation of many members in various activities meeting the needs and desires of most of women in terms of providing economic development support and building happy families, says Nguyen Thi Phuong Duyen, Chairperson of Nha Trang City Women’s Union.
Nha Trang City Women’s Union has taken the lead in the union task 2018. In the time to come, Nha Trang City Women’s Union will focus on responding to the 2019 theme “Safety for women and children”, building happy and healthy families promoting urban civilization, expanding mutual support models that are both beneficial to women and the community; activities towards to home sea and islands; and providing support for disadvantaged communities, according to Le Thi Mai Lien, Vice-Chairperson of Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union.
