The 2016 Rubik Nha Trang Open has just been held by Rubik Khanh Hoa Club at Le Quy Don High School, Nha Trang City, drawing dozens of young Rubik's Cube enthusiasts and their parents.

More than 100 speedcubers from high schools in Khanh Hoa Province and Phu Yen Province attended the competition, twisting and spinning Rubik’s Cubes. The position of the colors varied from cube to cube. For the puzzle to be solved, each face must be returned to have only one color.
 
“I am very interested in solving a Rubik's Cube. My parents also support my hobby and participation in the competition. I can meet many friends  with the same interest at the event,” says Lam Gia Huy, Tran Quoc Toan Junior High School, Tuy Hoa City.
 
“Speedcubing requires multitasking skills and intelligence. The organizing board has provided a helpful playground for teenagers,” says Tran Thi Linh, the mother of 2 contestants from Loc Tho Ward, Nha Trang City. “I encourage my child to take the hobby and gave him a chance to  part in the competition,” adds Ngo Minh Tung, the father of a competitor named Ngo Minh Bach from Phu Yen Province.
 
Phung Ba Dat, a student at Nha Trang University, a representative of Rubik Khanh Hoa Club, Head of the organizing board says, “Contestant number grew beyond our expectation. Many parents from Cam Ranh, Ninh Hoa and Phu Yen were also eager to travel a long way to bring their children to the competition. His club has held a speedcubing competition followed by 2016 Rubik Nha Trang Open. Rubik Khanh Hoa Club has had 35 members with meetings organized every Sunday. Besides, there are many Rubik groups regularly connected via facebook.
 
There are definitely some unique skills involved in solving a Rubik's Cube such as pattern recognition, movement visualization, memory and finger dexterity. Besides speedy twisting, cubers also have their own purposes to collect and create special Rubik's Cubes transformers.
 
“The player when spending  time with  the puzzle will discover the mathematical use of algorithm and know how to solve it as well as learn many other amazing things about the twisty toy,” says Tran Le Tuan Minh, a student at iSchool Nha Trang, a club member.
