Making Khanh Son durian brand rise far

With the active support of Khanh Hoa Department of Science and Technology (Department of Science and Technology), the People's Committee of Khanh Son district has built a brand, made a dossier of registration for protection of intellectual property rights, the National Office of Intellectual Property (Ministry of Science and Technology) has granted the certificate of trademark registration of Khanh Son durians since 2012. 

With the active support of Khanh Hoa Department of Science and Technology (Department of Science and Technology), the People's Committee of Khanh Son district has built a brand, made a dossier of registration for protection of intellectual property rights, the National Office of Intellectual Property (Ministry of Science and Technology) has granted the certificate of trademark registration of Khanh Son durians since 2012. Regulations on management and right to use Khanh Son durian brand are widely and continuously disseminated in the district to develop the use of the brand, preserving the reputation and making the Khanh Son durian brand rising far.
 
Nature has endowed Khanh Son land with favorable soil and climate conditions to produce delicious durians. To get the reputation of Khanh Son durian is the result of efforts growers and State agencies in the process of branding and being granted a brand certification. From the needs of durian growing and trading households in Khanh Son, the district People's Committee has proposed the provincial Department of Science and Technology to support the construction and development of the Khanh Son durian brand.

Do Nhi Huy - Head of Khanh Son district Agriculture and Rural Development Department shared: Khanh Son durian is the first agricultural product of the province to be granted a brand certification. Since 2009, the Department of Science and Technology has presided over and supported Khanh Son district to build and register for trademark protection for this product. Accordingly, in 2012, the Khanh Son durian certification mark was granted a protected title by the National Office of Intellectual Property with the Khanh Son District People's Committee as the owner of the trademark. After nearly 11 years, until now, the Khanh Son durian brand has been preserved, promoting the role of intellectual property and bringing many benefits to farmers and localities. It’s more proud when Khanh Son durian was voted as the "Golden brand of Vietnamese agricultural products".
 
The successful forming of the Khanh Son durian certification mark has created added value for durians grown in Khanh Son district, bringing high income to growers, becoming the "key" to eradicate poverty for local people. Up to now, the whole Khanh Son district has grown 1,908ha of durians, with a harvest in 2022 reaching about 9,000 tons.

According to Mau Thai Cu - Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of Khanh Son District People's Council, in recent years, Khanh Son agriculture has had the strength of fruit trees of high economic value, especially durians have contributed greatly in promoting local socio-economic development. In order to continue to promote the strength and brand of Khanh Son durian in particular and the agricultural sector in general, the district has developed a project to transform and develop the agricultural industry in the direction: changing from the mindset of "agricultural production" ” to think “agricultural economy” to produce high-value agricultural products, especially durians, along the value chain, in accordance with the requirements of the market; changing from the supply chain of agricultural products to the value chain of the commodity industry. Durian trees and other fruit trees will develop in the direction of high-tech, ecological, sustainable application and associated with the development of eco-tourism, agricultural tourism to increase income for gardeners...
 
In the development orientation, Khanh Son district identifies durian as the key in building and developing the typical local product brand. The district strives to have 1 product by 2025, and by 2030 to have 3 fresh durian products and products processed from durian achieving national product certification; 30 provincial OCOP products certified with 3 stars or more by 2025, and 50 provincial OCOP products certified with 3 stars or more by 2030. In addition, the locality also promotes Khanh Son durians by holding the Khanh Son Fruit Festival every 2 years and the Khanh Son Farm Product Fair every 2 years…
