According to the report of Khanh Hoa Province Department of Industry and Trade, for 3 years (from 2019 to 2021), the export turnover of goods in the province to the Indian market reached 5.06 million USD, including 1.05 million USD in 2021 only, up 21% compared to 2020, accounting for 0.08% of the total export turnover of goods in the province in 2021. In the first quarter of 2022, the export turnover of goods to India reached 70,000 USD. Exports to India are mainly coffee, textile products, seafood... In which, exports of seafood products to India in the past 3 years reached 643,000 USD, accounting for about 12.7% of the total export turnover of the province.
 
Meanwhile, import turnover from the Indian market in 3 years reached 35.4 million USD. The figure in 2021 only reached 13.7 million USD, an increase of 30.7% compared to 2020, accounting for 1.84% of the total import turnover of the province in 2021. In the first quarter of 2022, import turnover from this market reached 2.9 million USD. Imports from India are mainly aquatic materials, animal feed, chemicals, machinery and equipment, fabrics and pharmaceutical raw materials. Particularly, the import of aquatic materials from India accounted for about 78% of the total import turnover from India and accounted for 3% of the import turnover of aquatic products of the province.
 
In order to expand the import-export market to India, recently, Khanh Hoa Province People's Committee cooperated with the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh held the seminar "Opportunities to promote trade between the central provinces of Vietnam and India" in the form of direct and online combination, with the participation of leaders of the Trade Promotion Department (under the Ministry of Industry and Trade), provinces Khanh Hoa, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan; management agencies, associations, enterprises in some provinces and cities in the country and India.

At the seminar, Dinh Van Thieu - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that the year 2022 is of great significance in Vietnam - India relations as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1972 - 2022). Since the two countries became a comprehensive strategic partner in 2016, bilateral trade has doubled, surpassing the USD10 billion threshold, with a target of USD15 billion by 2022. Therefore, the seminar is an opportunity to strengthen linkages between trade promotion units, manufacturing and distribution enterprises in exchange of information, cooperation in consumption of goods and services; promoting linkages in investment in production, supply and consumption of goods, business development, and expansion of consumption markets between the two countries, especially trade promotion and development of specific products as well as the strengths of some central provinces of Vietnam and India…
 
Through online connection at the workshop, the delegates from Odisha and Gujarat (India) introduced about the agricultural product and seafood processing industry of India. These are the two major export industries of the country, they play an important role in the economy of India. Therefore, Madan Mohan Sethi - Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City hopes that in the coming time, Vietnam and India will have many opportunities to expand cooperation in the field of trade, especially agricultural and aquatic products, etc. The two sides will have many programs to introduce and promote their products and facilitate the connection of trade in goods.
 
According to Phan Thi Thu Cuc - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, in the coming time, the department will continue coordinating with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Departments of Industry and Trade of the central and Central Highlands provinces to support and create favorable conditions for businesses. Enterprises will boost trade promotion activities, support enterprises to promote products directly to consumers in foreign markets. In particular, the department will organize the dissemination of goods trade agreements between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the Republic of India through trade promotion programs and projects of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. On the other hand, the province will take advantage of Vietnam in the signed trade agreements to promote finding customers and developing export markets for Khanh Hoa's strong products. At the same time, the provincial Department of Tourism will propagate timely for export production and business enterprises to grasp knowledge about international economic integration, export policies, overseas product consumption markets and other information about policy changes from importing countries; promote the development of e-commerce; support industrial production facilities to innovate production technology, step by step improve competitiveness...
