Speeding up construction of power transmission projects

The National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) is accelerating the construction progress of 2 projects: Van Phong 500 kV substation and connection and 500kV Van Phong - Vinh Tan transmission line with the aim to promptly release capacity for Van Phong 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant and other renewable energy plants in the region, partly ensuring electricity supply for the South at the end of the year.

At a recent meeting with the delegation of EVNNPT, Nguyen Tan Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed, "For key national projects, the province is committed to removing difficulties. The provincial People's Committee has asked the localities with the projects passing to continue mobilizing people to hand over the site soon to implement the projects. The province also asked EVNNPT to study construction plans to ensure safety and minimize impacts on people's lives.”

According to Nguyen Duc Tuyen - Director of the Central Power Project Management Board (CPMB), that by mid-June, the 500 kV Van Phong substation project and its connection undertaken by two contractors, Alphanam E&C and HECICO has been completed the temporary fence construction, the erection of the 500 kV yard gate post, the transformer foundation, the control house foundation, the shift waiting house... The contractor is installing sewers and cable ditches, completing excavation at 60/66 positions, casting foundation at 52/66 positions and erecting columns at 38/66 positions. It is expected that the two contractors will complete the remaining foundation positions before July 10; the remaining steel poles will be completed in July, the conductor will end in September.
