During the past years, the industry and handicrafts of Dien Khanh district have developed stably, the value of industrial and handicraft production has increased year by year, ensuring the economic restructure in the right direction. The total value of industrial production - handicrafts in the district in the period of 2016 - 2020 reached more than 30,502 billion VND, an average increase of 16.52%/year; 7,827 billion VND in 2021.
 
In the district, there are 115 industrial production enterprises with nearly 5,638 employees. Dien Phu Industrial Cluster has 27 operating enterprises, including 15 enterprises engaged in industrial production, with 500.6 billion VND in production value and 1,300 jobs. The main industrial products in the district are bird's nest products, mineral water, beer, building materials, paper of all kinds, bricks, construction stones, etc. The use of machinery and equipment in the production process contributes to increasing labor productivity, product quality, improving product value and competitiveness… Up to now, the whole district has 1,050 handicraft production establishments and traditional industries. Industry promotion activities are invested in, contributing to quality improvement. The Department of Industry and Trade, and the Industy and Trade Encouragement Center have supported the district to implement 15 industrial promotion projects with a total budget of about 2.6 billion VND to apply machinery and equipment to production.

Developing industrial clusters
 
The district sets a target that by 2025, the proportion of the value of industry - construction will make up 59.2%, services 36.5%, agriculture 4.3% in the economic structure of the district. Industrial production value increased by over 15.32%/year on average; the rate of labor in the fields of industry - construction and services is expected to reach 85%.
 
Nguyen Tan Cuong - Vice Chairman of Dien Khanh District People's Committee said that as planned to carry out key tasks and key solutions to promote the development of industry - handicrafts in the period of 2021 - 2025, the district will develop in the direction of improving quality, competitiveness, industrialization and modernization based on effectively exploiting advantages of location, resources, labor and environment; promoting investment in building infrastructure of industrial clusters to attract secondary investment; impulsing encourage industry as well as small and medium-sized enterprises, attracting rural laborers to industrial and handicraft production; maintaining and developing rural and traditional trades, creating typical and high-quality products from local raw materials.
 
In the solutions to promote the development of industry - handicrafts, Dien Khanh district focuses on well implementing the planning of sectors and fields. In the immediate future, the district will deploy the planning to develop industrial clusters for production projects. The district continues to build and upgrade the system of main roads and roads to industrial clusters, raw material areas; expanding the electricity and water supply network to ensure industry and the use of the people.
 
In addition, the district will review and arrange small-scale processing establishments, handicraft establishments, craft villages, etc. to have policies to support and encourage investment in expanding production and innovating technology and improve the quality and value of products according to the mechanism to support the development of rural industries. In addition, the work of ensuring human resources and protecting the environment in the development of industry - handicrafts is also paid more attention.
