In the context of the Covid-19 epidemic, consumer habits are also gradually shifting from traditional purchases to non-cash payment methods such as e-wallet, Internet Banking, ATM, E-Mobile Banking… Therefore, non-cash payments and electronic payments recorded high growth compared to previous year
In addition, payments through banks for public services and social security programs has been sped up. Banks have actively coordinated with Khanh Hoa State Treasury, the provincial Tax Department, Customs Department, Khanh Hoa Power Joint Stock Company, health sector, education... to deploy payments via banks for services such as taxes, electricity, water, hospital fees, tuition fees...; build a data connection, customer's invoice information for online payment or sign a contract to automatically deduct money from the account to pay for service providers.

With the project of developing non-cash payments in Vietnam for the period of 2021 - 2025 according to the Prime Minister's Decision No. 1813, in 2022 is expected to have breakthroughs in digital transformation of the banking. With many new and modern payment services being deployed by banks and payment intermediaries, transactions through the electronic payment system are expected to increase in both quantity and value.
 
According to the report of the State Bank of Khanh Hoa Branch, in 2021, the number of payment transactions via the Internet reached 2,045,500 items, an increase of 174.3%; payment transactions via mobile phones reached 17,727,607 items, up 158%; there were 29,438 times of customers depositing savings online, up 39.68%, with 192,367 transactions, up 115.5% compared to 2020.
 
In 2021, payments through banks for public services achieved positive results. The number of enterpri reached 100%; electricity bill payment reached 90.2% out of total electricity bill revenue and 76.7% out of total items; 19.48% of households make water bill payments through banks with a turnover of 142.9 billion VND...
