Nguyen Thi Kim Nga - member of Women's Union in Dai My village, Ninh Than commune, is known by many villagers for her dynamism in family economic development. Before, her family was very difficult, her income was not enough to afford living although she had 6 acres of land to grow rice. In 2012, her husband suddenly passed away, she alone raised two children and her elderly mother-in-law. However, working hard, Nga converted her rice land to grow vegetables and 2 hectares of grapefruits. Every year, after all expenses, she earns about 50 million VND, their life has become more stable.
Nguyen Thi Lan - Deputy Head of Women's Union of Tan Kieu street (Ninh Da ward) is one of the typical good production and business households in Ninh Hoa. Her family has a 1.2ha farm, raising 250 chickens, growing Thai mangoes and jackfruits. Every year, after expenses, her family earns about 100 million VND from breeding and planting fruit trees. In addition, Lan also mobilized other members to jointly build effective economic models.

Determining that supporting women in earning living and getting rich is a key task and a breakthrough stage of the association's work, the Women's Union of Ninh Hoa town had many creative ways and solutions to focus resources and connect to support women; organized propaganda activities to provide knowledge, guide skills in building and developing startup ideas for women, attracting 1,323 members to attend.
At the same time, the union has promoted propaganda and advocacy for women to apply science and technology to production, to change the structure of plant and animal breeds, to develop the family economy, to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty; maintained and replicated economic models, contributing create local capital sources to support poor women and disadvantaged women… “In the coming time, the union will continue to survey and select members to participate in the business start-up and business management classes and have support for starting a business; vocational training and job creation. In particular, the union will pay attention to poor, near-poor and disadvantaged households as well as give priority to collective economic models, business households with effective creative ideas, households participating in industries that create key products for the locality," said Diem.
