Epidemic prevention required to be ensured

From July to the end of August, Khanh Son is expected to harvest about 7,100 tons of agricultural products of all kinds, including 6,240 tons of durians, 700 tons of bananas, 60 tons of grapefruits, 30 tons of mangosteens... However, due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the sales of agricultural products are facing a lot of difficulties in both export and domestic market.

In Khanh Son, about 70% of durians have been purchased by traders in the south west region. They have signed contracts as well as arranged human resources to harvest and vehicles to transport. The remaining amount of durians is mainly of small gardeners to sell inside and outside the province. Currently, people from Cam Lam and Cam Ranh to Khanh Son buy agricultural products of Khanh Son and people in Khanh Son also actively do online sales with an output of about 10 tons/day... Besides, businesses such as Chanh Thu Fruit Import-Export Co., Ltd (Ben Tre province) and supermarkets have been connected to sell durians and other agricultural products for the people...

According to representatives of cooperatives and fruit growing groups of in Khanh Son, currently, the most difficult thing is the sales of durians by large gardeners. These gardens have to harvest simultaneously in batches, while experienced workers are not available locally but come from the southern provinces but the epidemic situation is complicated and travel is difficult...

Nguyen Van Nhuan - Chairman of Khanh Son District People's Committee said that currently, drivers from southern provinces and epidemic areas in the province to Khanh Son with negative test result for Covid-19 are allowed to enter the district, stay for 3 days to collect and transport agricultural products. Workers from other provinces who come to Khanh Son to pick durians will have to quickly test for antigens, undergo medical isolation at the District Health Center for 7 days before entering the gardens and the gardens have to committee to arrange three on the spot for them, including harvesting, eating and resting; The commune People's Committees have to closely supervise.
