Connecting OCOP products to market

The fair Safe Farm Product Week (from October 16 to October 18 at Big C Nha Trang) not only introduced consumers to the specialties of many regions across the country, but also opened an opportunity to connect cooperatives, OCOP (One Commune One Product) manufacturers with large-scale retail distribution system.

The fair Safe Farm Product Week (from October 16 to October 18 at Big C Nha Trang) not only introduced consumers to the specialties of many regions across the country, but also opened an opportunity to connect cooperatives, OCOP (One Commune One Product) manufacturers with large-scale retail distribution system.

At the fair, the organizers awarded 6 typical products, one of which were of Khanh Hoa, that is O Xanh melon (a product of Diep Chau company in Song Cau commune, Khanh Vinh district).

During three days of the fair, consumers were very interested in the products here. With nearly 30 stalls, the fair had a lot of kind of local specialties of many places across the country like green tea, vermicelli, rice, salanganes' nest, dragon fruit, peanut oil, wine, coffee, fruits, vegetable, honey, macca, etc. According to the fair organizers, most of these products have achieved OCOP at district or provincial level.

At the fair, Le Duc Thinh - Director of Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development (under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) said that this was the first year the ministry coordinated with localities and businesses to organize a fair to promote typical OCOP products of different regions. The fair aims to promote OCOP-certified products, connect products with modern retail chains to bring these products into large-scale retail and distribution systems such as supermarkets... to create opportunities for local producers, cooperatives and small businesses to sell their agricultural products.
 
Organized successully for 6 times in localities, each fair has helped hundreds of local cooperatives and businesses to put products into Big C supermarkets. This fair is just one of the events in the series of solutions to bring OCOP products to consumers such as promoting marketing on the mass media, OCOP fairs in the region and in the world...

According to Huynh Quang Thanh - Director of the Provincial Rural Development Department, Khanh Hoa had 10 booths participating in the market, including 3 booths for display and introduction of 18 OCOP products in 2019 recognized as 3 star standard by the Provincial People's Committee. Not only displaying and introducing typical agricultural products of the province, but participating in the fair was also an opportunity to introduce potentials, advantages and preferential policies of the province to attract investors in agriculture and rural areas.
