Building and developing Nha Trang as international brand

The Prime Minister has just issued Decision approving the tasks of adjusting the general planning of Nha Trang City to 2040. Planning aims to enhance the international brand of the city, initially becoming a commercial financial city of national stature and Southeast Asia.
 
The Prime Minister's decision requires Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee to review the whole content of the general planning approved in 2012 on the basis of assessing the actual development of Nha Trang City, assess formulated and approved plannings in the city, and review orientations in developing urban space, land use planning and investment in technical and social infrastructure of the city. In addition, it is necessary to review and evaluate the implementation of projects that have detailed plans or investment policies. The province also needs to set up criteria to determine detailed plannings and projects to continue implementing and proposing solutions for detailed plans and projects stopping to add land fund for the tourism development.

In addition, the provincial People's Committee has to forecast development needs in the new period, ensuring a development orientation to be harmonious with the strategy of the sustainable marine economy development and the smart city development; propose strategic solutions to overcome shortcomings in traffic infrastructure overload and social infrastructure, especially in coastal areas; propose specific solutions to control the development of urban space, high-rise buildings, and arrange public spaces for urban residents and tourists.

When planning and submitting to the Ministry of Construction for appraisal, the Provincial People's Committee has to evaluate the development trend of the coastal urban chain in the Central for the planning and development of Nha Trang City; assess the current economic development of the city through urban economic indicators, the assessment and selection of land fund for development and urban redevelopment. For technical infrastructure, it is necessary to identify problems to meet standard of a first-grade city. When planning, it is necessary to define urban development vision and objectives to propose possible scenarios to develop tourism, urban areas, trading and service - maritime, ensuring long-term stability and sustainability. The province has to determine to build and develop Nha Trang to become a city with international brand, and improve urban competitiveness based on existing key strengths.
 
Till 2030, Nha Trang City is expected to upgrade the quality of urban space and tourism, attract world-class tourism investors, diversify tourist products, sustainably exploit existing tourism resources, with outstanding features of the coast, islands, peninsulas and ecological spaces; proceeding to raise the position of the international brand of the beach city, initially becoming a commercial financial city of national stature and Southeast Asia.
