Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan  together with departments and units has made inspection on two solar power plant projects, namely KN Van Ninh (in Van Hung Commune, Van Ninh District) and Long Son (in Ninh Son Commune, Ninh Hoa Town).

It’s only about 3 months left for solar power projects to connect to the grid in 2020 to enjoy preferential policies. Therefore, this is the period when projects are accelerating quickly. At the KN Van Ninh Solar Power Plant project (with capacity of 100MWp, area of 120ha and total investment of VND 2,489 billion), most of the items applying for investment license have been basically completed. The work of measuring and defining boundaries, verifying the origin and inventory of damages for households and organizations located within the project boundary has been completed. The enterprise is also actively coordinating with the People's Committee of Van Ninh District and the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment to implement the work related to the compensation. Besides, the investor has just completed the work of measuring, setting boundaries and statistics on the affected volume for the line connected to the 110kV grid. Construction of foundation piles and battery racks has been completed 85% of the volume; 25% of panels are currently gathered at the project. It is expected that in about 59 days, KN Van Ninh Solar Power Plant will officially generate commercial power.

Similarly, Long Son Solar Power Plant (capacity 170MWp, total investment of 2,600 billion VND) has also cleared 100% of the ground. Project ground leveling and internal road construction has been completed. On September 15, the project constructed nearly 13,000 concrete piles to mount the battery holders. The project owners strive to officially generate commercial electricity by December 10.

“The current progress shows the efforts of investors. Despite many difficulties, the projects still achieve a considerable amount of work. The Provincial People's Committee praised the efforts of businesses and local authorities. In particular, the province recognizes the agreement and support for the project of the local people ”, Chairman Nguyen Tan Tuan assessed.

Currently, the investor has been speeding up the construction progress, but due to many factors, solar power projects still face some problems. The remaining time to put the project into commercial operation to enjoy the preferential electricity price is just over 3 months. To be able to generate electricity before December 31, 2020 (the time to enjoy preferential policies), businesses want the authorities at all levels to create favorable conditions to remove the problems they are facing.

Chairman Nguyen Tan Tuan said that when the solar power projects come into operation, it will increase budget revenue for the province and create jobs for local people. While the economy is affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, speeding up projects has a very important meaning in promoting the economy. “Therefore, in the coming time, the Provincial People's Committee will direct departments, branches and localities to create the best conditions for investors. The specialized agencies need to be removed problems in procedures. Projects need to be facilitated to put into operation ”, he emphasized.
