Over the past term, Khanh Son district has implemented its economic projects, including zoning off and developing bamboos, developing fruit trees and developing tourism. “The projects and programs are based on careful assessment and research on the nature, soil and potentials of the district. By focusing on investing in these projects, we hope to give orientation to people on their own land ”, said Mau Thai Cu - Secretary of Khanh Son District Party Committee.
 
For the project of zoning and developing bamboos, the district has surveyed and zoned to protect bamboos for the project development. The project of fruit tree development has brought about clear economic benefits for the people. By the end of 2019, the district has supported more than VND1.3 billion for 549 households participating in the project on an area of 153.43 ha of rambutans and green skin pomeloes. “Over the past years, the district has actively implemented the fruit tree development project. Over the years, the district supported to convert 80.13 hectares and supported the costs of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and watering systems, thereby helping households invest this model better”, said Ta Quoc Phong - Chairman of Son Binh Commune People's Committee.
 
To implement the tourism development program, the district prioritizes investment in the construction of initial infrastructure such as pass stop, road to the Ta Gu waterfall, establishing a performance team, re-enacting good practices of local people, etc. to serve tourists. The promotion and introduction to the district has been paid care. The district has called for investment in potential tourist sites such as pine hill (in Son Binh commune), Ta Gu waterfall ecological area (in Son Hiep commune). Especially in 2019, for the first time the district held the fruit festival, which attracted more than 10,000 visitors. “Son Hiep commune has carried out many activities to create tourism products to attract visitors. The number of visitors to tourist sites in the commune during the past 3 years has increased significantly compared to before. In 2019, the commune welcomed 3,500 visitors, including 300 international visitors,” said Tran Tan Chong - Chairman of Son Hiep Commune People's Committee.

Entering the new stage, Khanh Son District continues to offer projects, including the tourism development program, the scheme of restructuring agriculture and project of conserving, restoring and manipulating stone herds. For the tourism development program, the district will strengthen information, promotion and tourism promotion; concentrate resources on building tourism infrastructure; develop human resources and raise awareness of the people in community tourism development. At the same time, the district will implement policies to attract investment in tourism development, and cooperate with localities inside and outside the province to develop tourism.
 
 
With the project of restructuring agriculture to 2025 and vision to 2030, the district will focus on promoting propaganda for people to know and implement; do the land planning well for the period 2020 - 2030, specify the converted area and plan the area for fruit trees to invest in appropriate infrastructure. Besides, the district will intensify checking and forecasting the disease situation on plants; guide people to invest in crop care, apply science and technology in production according to VietGAP standards, participate in the OCOP (one commune one product) program associated with output for farm products.
 
In particular, the district is determined to restore the heritage of Khanh Son stone herd. Through the project of preserving, restoring and manipulating Khanh Son stone herd, the district desires to elevate this unique musical instrument of Raglai people. This aims to preserve and promote unique culture. The district plans to invite artisans, experts and musicians to participate in manipulating the stone instrument, aiming to organize a stone instrument festival right in Khanh Son in the coming time.
