Industrial production index estimated to increase by 0.68%

According to the statistics of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, in the first 6 months, the province's industrial production index has been estimated to increase by 0.68% over the same period last year. 
 

According to the statistics of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, in the first 6 months, the province’s industrial production index has been estimated to increase by 0.68% over the same period last year. 
 
Specifically, mining went up by 21.2%; processing and manufacturing increased by 0.99%; tobacco production increased by 33.61%; production of transport vehicles was up by 14.65%; beverage production rose by 2.08%.
 
Some industries seeing a drop in the industrial production index include production of beds, wardrobes, tables and chairs (down by 18.35%); clothes production (down by 12.46%); textile (down by 6.09%); production and distribution of electricity, gas, steam (down by 3.43%), and so on.
 
The shortage of input materials imported from China due to COVID-19 pandemic was the main cause of the decrease of the decrease in the industrial production index. Besides, the Government’s Decree 100/2019/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for road traffic and rail transport violations and impacts of the pandemic on tourism and export contributed to the decrease.
