Vietnam’s flag carrier Vietnam Airlines recently made an announcement saying it will increase cargo transport to help maintain production and business and accompany the Government in the battle against COVID-19 outbreak.

Accordingly, in April, Vietnam Airlines continues to boost cargo transport, both domestically and internationally. The airline planned to conduct 150 domestic flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City/Nha Trang City, Can Tho Province and Hanoi; over 130 international flights to Northeast Asian countries (Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong), Southeast Asian countries (Thailand, Singapore), European countries (England, France, Germany, Russia), and Australia.

From March 12 to 31, Vietnam Airlines conducted 45 domestic and international freight flights by Boeing 787-9 and Airbus A35, without passengers and flight attendants. All aircrews were equipped with necessary protective gear; entire cargo holds were disinfected immediately after unloading.

Vietnam Airlines is planning to promote cargo transport until the end of 2020 to contribute to the country’s economy and maintain production and business amid COVID-19 pandemic.
