Leverage for supporting industries

Khanh Hoa Province People's Committee has launched Supporting Industry Developing Program till 2025. Then, the province will expand manufacturing products of supporting industries, supply them for markets and join in the global value chain.

Khanh Hoa Province People’s Committee has launched Supporting Industry Developing Program till 2025. Then, the province will expand manufacturing products of supporting industries, supply them for markets and join in the global value chain.
 
At present, the whole province has about 25 businesses in supporting industries, but their development has been slow. Total production value of supporting industries in Khanh Hoa makes up only 4.4% of the total production value of the province, contributing only VND35 billion in the State budget. Laborer number of supporting industries make up about 9.5% of laborer number in industry of the province. Current supporting industries focus on textile garment, mechanics, electricity and electronics.
 
In the Supporting Industry Developing Program till 2025, the provincial People’s Committee defined that developing supporting industries is target as well as impetus to develop main industries fast and sustainably. Simultaneously, priority to developing supporting industries aims to raise added value, competitiveness and activeness of businesses in the province and raise attractiveness to investors. The province’s targets till 2025 are stepping up the support to facilitate supporting industry businesses, building and forming industrial zones and groups for supporting industries. 
 
The provincial People’s Committee has set specific targets in this program. Four focused supporting industries are mechanics, textile garment – shoe leather, electronics – electric equipment and hi-tech industry.

In mechanics, the province will develop machine and equipment manufacture and industry supporting mechanics as a impetus for general supporting industries. Receiving, transfering, innovating and improving production technology towards high technology, energy saving and energy friendly with environment need paid attention. Besides, the State will attach importances to developing steps having high added value in product value chain like design, model manufacture, complex spare part manufacture, etc.
 
In the field of textile garment and shoe leather, the provincial People’s Committee specifies to intensify capacity for existing producers, attract investment, innovate technology and equipment in textile materials and accessories to satisfy higher and higher demand of consumers in and beyond the province. In the time to come, producing fashionable shoes and high-quality bags will be given priority.
 
In electronics, electric equipment and high technology, the leadership of the province also require suitable investment and obvious improvement. As planned, the State will spend nearly VND8 billion on supporting the four above fields.
 
Tran Van Ngoan, deputy director of Khanh Hoa Province Department of Industry and Trade, said, “The program to develop supporting industries in Khanh Hoa till 2025 launched by the provincial People’s Committee is expected to create a boost to local supporting industries. It will encourage businesses in the province to invest more in production lines and human resource. The development of supporting industries will forward other industries, creating advantages in attracting investment. Hopefully, with the policy of Khanh Hoa Province authority, supporting industries of the province will make worthy development.
