Khanh Hoa Province Department of Industry and Trade on August 23 announced the decision approving industry development planning of the province by 2025 and view to 2035.

Khanh Hoa Province Department of Industry and Trade on August 23 announced the decision approving industry development planning of the province by 2025 and view to 2035. In this planning, a lot of orientations for industry have been specified. 
 
In the industry development planning by 2025, the province will develop industry modernly, encouraging supporting industries, industries and products using high technologies, saving energy, costing few natural resources, being friendly with environment, creating economic value and contributing much in the province’s GDP. Especially, the provincial People’s Committee orients to develop industry associated to sustainable development, save land for following time and welcoming big modern projects to made positive contributions to changing structure of industry.

From now to 2025, the province will focus investment on industries like processing, manufacture, consumer products, etc to serve demands in the country and export. Projects of supporting industries, high technology, high value, energy saving and good contribution to the State revenue will be attended to. Manufacture mechanics focuses is repairing and building ships, machines for industrial production and processing, etc. Supporting industry focuses on manufacturing spare parts for ships, automobiles and electronic products, etc. Power industry focuses on Van Phong thermo-electric project, BOT thermo-electric project, new energies, solar energy, etc. Industries like chemicals, leather shoes and garment are oriented.
 
According to Le Hoang Tho, deputy director of the provincial Department Industry and Trade, the planning aims to uphold advantages and mobilize all forces to make a breakthrough in industrial growth. Infrastructure, investment attraction and skillful laborer development will be attached importance. Besides, policies to encourage main industries, supporting industries and high-tech industries will be set up.
 
Beside oriented according to industries, the industry of Khanh Hoa Province in the coming time will develop according to three main areas, including Van Phong Economic Zone, Cam Ranh Bay and Nha Trang – Dien Khanh. Van Phong Economic Zone comprises two sectors with the south to become industrial center associated to sea port with petrochemistry, power, ship building, shipping, etc. and the north to build a high-technology area. Cam Ranh Bay is oriented to develop maritime economy, paying attention to ship building, maritime, sea port, rural industry, tourism services, etc. Nha Trang – Dien Khanh will give priority to electronic industry, step up rural industry, etc.
 
 

Khanh Hoa Province sets targets that the rate of industry and construction makes up 42% - 44% of the province’s GDP (industry particularly: 37% - 39.5%); average growth rate reaches 6.9% - 7.3% a year. In the period of 2021 – 2025, the rate of industry is targeted to make up 37% - 39% in GDP. By 2025, the rate of industrial products and high technology products is expected to make up more than 40%; the rate of manufacture industrial products is expected to make up over 45%...

As planned, by 2025, Khanh Hoa Province has four industrial zones, including Suoi Dau Industrial Zone (in Cam Lam District) with more than 136 hectares, Ninh Thuy Industrial Zone (in Ninh Hoa Town) with 207 hectares, Southern Cam Ranh Industrial Zone (in Cam Ranh City) with 350 hectares, Van Thang Industrial Zone (Van Ninh District) with 200 hectares. These industrial zones are for food processing, electronics, mechanics, manufacture, clean industries, etc. Besides, the province is planned to have 12 industrial groups with more than 525 hectares, mainly for clean industries.
