2-4 Square will be bustling with activities
The activities of Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe, the provincial Center of Culture and Cinema and the provincial Traditional Art Theater will alternately take place from January 11 to 27 (lunar December 20 to lunar January 6). On January 21 night (lunar December 30), a jointly organized Lunar New Year’s Eve music program starts at 9:30pm. The program will include 16 performances about spring and youthfulness. “Besides familiar songs that have been rearranged, the program also features favorite songs of young people. We also have another music program to serve locals and tourists on January 24 (lunar January 3),” said Tran Duc Ha, head of Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe.

On January 22 night (lunar January 1), local people and tourists in Nha Trang can enjoy a festive atmosphere with performances of unicorn-lion-dragon dance at 2-4 Square. On January 23, 25, and 26 nights, people who love traditional art can see the stage plays of the artists and actors of the provincial Traditional Art Theater. These plays have been recently staged by the theater and were highly rated by professionals.
Besides 2-4 Square, other venues for outdoor cultural activities on Tet holiday include the front area of the provincial Conference Center (46 Tran Phu Street) and the stage opposite Tue Tinh Street. The provincial Traditional Art Theater also holds programs at Ponagar Temple.
Many cultural destinations
Visiting Nha Trang City during Lunar New Year 2023, tourists can visit many destinations to experience local culture. For example, from January 11, the provincial Museum holds exhibition on unique seashells in Khanh Hoa waters; photo exhibition about the countries and peoples in ASEAN Community; folk games; Tet-themed Ao dai program for mothers and children; and “warm-hearted pot of banh chung, banh tet” program.
At the area near Tram Huong Tower, the provincial Center of Culture and Cinema will hold an exhibition displaying photos about spring features in Khanh Hoa, starting on January 16. The center will also display typical products of Khanh Hoa at Tet stalls at the beach park area opposite Novotel Nha Trang Hotel. Bai Choi Festival organized near the Tet stalls is also an interesting place for tourists to learn about the features of Bai Choi, an intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO.
On the occasion of Lunar New Year 2023, Khanh Hoa Library continues to be the venue for Newspaper Festival 2023. The unit has also held a book day for children. The provincial Center for Monument Preservation will hold many activities at Ponagar Temple, including performances of traditional musical instruments, showcases of pottery and brocade making of Cham people, traditional music performances of the Cham, etc.
