Following the instructions of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of Resolution 09 of the Politburo, over the past time, Khanh Hoa’s cultural sector has launched activities to develop the sector with high determination and new targets.

Implementing many activities

Reportedly, the provincial Department of Culture and Sports has proposed the provincial People’s Committee issue many documents such as plan on domestic violence prevention and control up to 2025; document approving the plan to implement “All people unite to build cultural life” movement in the period of 2022-2026; project on preserving and promoting good traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities connected with tourism development under the National Target Program on socio-economic development in the areas of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas in 2021-2025 period; project on preserving, restoring and promoting the folk music of ethnic minorities connected with tourism development in the period of 2021-2030.

Additionally, the department is also implementing digital transformation in order to preserve and promote the values of heritages and improve service quality of cultural institutions. For example, the turning of the provincial library into a digital one is being carried out with a total investment of over VND17 billion; the project on applying digital technology to display and promote the potential and values of cultural heritages at the provincial museum is under evaluation; the application of QR code - Guiding is being implemented at some national monuments such as Ponagar Temple and Hon Chong tourist attraction.

Currently, the province’s cultural sector is implementing some projects to preserve and promote the values of monuments, including Dien Khanh Ancient Citadel, C235 Ship memorial monument, Hung Vuong Temple, headquarters of Ba Ngoi provisional revolutionary People's Committee, Tra Long Communal House, Quang Dong Communal House, Lap Dinh Communal House, My Thanh Communal House, Thanh Chau Communal House, Tan My Communal House, Phong Thanh Communal House, Hoi Dong Temple, Thanh Minh Communal House. In addition, the department has also proposed investing in building some new cultural institutions such as: Truong Sa Museum, Truong Sa Park; new cluster of provincial Museum, Culture and Exhibition Center, and Performing Art Center; and A. Yersin Museum. These are the cultural institutions of strategic importance, meeting the conditions for the development of the province when it becomes a centrally-run city.

Connecting promotion and development

At a recent meeting with the leadership of the provincial Department of Culture and Sports and its subordinate units, Dinh Van Thieu, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, stated that Khanh Hoa had many conditions to develop the cultural sector, in which, the development of tourism was an important element. Cultural activities can promote tourism; therefore, it is necessary to connect the development of culture with tourism more effectively. First of all, the culture sector needs to build Ponagar Temple - Am Chua heritage route to serve cultural and spiritual tourism activities and implement the renovation project of Dien Khanh Ancient Citadel concurrently with the project to promote the values of the monument.

As stated by Thieu, the Resolution No. 09 defined Khanh Son District and Khanh Vinh District as mountainous ecological sub-urban areas, so it is necessary to pay attention to the restoration of the traditional cultural values of the local people. The province’s cultural sector needs to provide professional support for the two localities so that the traditional culture of ethnic minorities can become the highlight, contributing to the development of each district.

Besides, the cultural sector needs to pay attention to restoring the cultural values relating to Doctor A.Yersin. It is also necessary to build new cultural institutions commensurate with the province's development.
