The ongoing fine art exhibition held by Khanh Hoa Provincial Association of Literature and Art to welcome New Year 2021, taking place at the provincial Museum (16 Tran Phu Street, Nha Trang City), is bringing a space of bright colors and artistic environment to the people in the city.

After more than one month of launching, the exhibition had received 70 works from 48 painters and sculptors. Most of the works are the recently created ones with bright colors. The paintings on display at the exhibition depict different aspects and reflect the artists’ perspectives on life. “The space of the exhibition with vibrant colors raises up the viewers’ spirit,” said Nguyen Van Thich (Phuoc Tan Ward, Nha Trang City).

The subject matter in the paintings varies from the beauty of people and homeland to the socio-economic development of the country. The diversity of sizes, subject matter, media, and content depicted in the paintings have left a drastic impression on the viewers. Some of the exhibited paintings are “Lotus” of Tran Ha, “Sun flowers” of Bui Van Quang, “Khanh Son’s Landscape” of Le Huynh, “Ancient Street” of Le Van Duy, “Herd of Horses and Sea” of Pham Chinh Nam, and “Rhythm of Life” of Bui Trung Chinh.

Painter Bui Trung Chinh created his work “Rhythm of Life” by carving on aluminum in 2020. The painting depicts the life of people on rivers. It was given a consolation prize at the fine art exhibition of the central and highland regions in 2020.

In addition to well-known artists of the province, this year’s fine art exhibition also received the works of 15 artists who have not been the members of the provincial Association of Literature and Art. This partly reflects the interest of the painters and sculptors over the province in the provincial fine art exhibition.

Reportedly, Khanh Hoa’s 2020 fine art exhibition has 20 works of art more than the previous years. Most of the paintings have medium or large size, proving the hard work of the artists in creating them. The artists used many materials to create their works, such as oil paint, lacquer, wood, Chinese ink, aluminum, acrylic paints, watercolor, chalks, and ceramics.

The subject matter depicted and content expressed in the paintings shows the depth of creativity of each artist. The exhibition introduces the public to many prize-winning works of arts at the fine art exhibition of the southern central and highland regions 2020.  It is a commendable effort from Khanh Hoa’s Association of Literature and Art, artists and sculptors over the province to organize the exhibition despite all the difficulties happening this year.
