In 2020, the cultural sector of Khanh Hoa has focused to accomplish its duties on propaganda about the anniversaries of the country and province. The important political duties of the province’s cultural sector include the preparation and propaganda activities for the province’s 5th Patriotic Emulation Congress, the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat, and the 18th provincial Communist Party Congress.

Many investment and construction projects have also been accomplished, including repairing the head office of Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe, provincial museum, and provincial Center of Culture and Cinema; equipping management software for outdoor advertising media; proposing the medium-term investment plan for the period 2021-2025 with 48 investment projects with a total estimated cost of VND240.8 billion to the provincial People’s Committee.

Reportedly, in 2020, Khanh Hoa Province’s cultural sector had to cancel some important cultural and art programs due to COVID-19 pandemic, such as folk cultural festival and contest on cultural heritages. Some festivals namely Ponagar Temple Festival and Hung Kings’ Death Anniversary were organized at a smaller scale. Many other events and activities of sector could not also take place as planned. However, the provincial cultural sector has made great efforts to meet the needs for cultural activities of the public.
