Khanh Hoa Province’s first-ever folk culture show will be held at 2-4 Square (Nha Trang City) on the evening of August 1 with many typical cultural features of the land of aloe wood.

The show whose theme is “Khanh Hoa - Color of cultural features” is organized by Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports. The show includes performances featuring many typical cultural festivals and intangible cultural heritages of Khanh Hoa, such as Ponagar Temple Festival, Whale Worshipping Festival, Grave-Leaving Ceremony of the Raglai, and bai choi folk game. These festivals and heritages present the cultural features of the communities in different areas (coastal areas, plains, mountains) in Khanh Hoa.

In 90 minutes of the show, audience can enjoy numerous performances of singing, dancing, and fashion. The show forms a generalized image of Khanh Hoa’s features of typical traditional culture. In order to convey the message of folklore and make the performances interesting, it requires implementers to carefully study and select symbolic features representing the festivals and heritages, according to song writer Hinh Phuoc Lien.

Apart from Khanh Hoa’s performance art groups, this folk culture show also features some famous singers of the country, such as Dam Vinh Hung, Ho Quynh Huong, Hien Thuc, Vo Ha Tram, Quang Linh, and Phi Nhung. Besides, a group of dancers and models from Ho Chi Minh City will also perform at the show. The stage will be designed with unique ideas and be interactive with the performances of the artists. Stage effects and LED screen effects will be used optimally.

This folk culture show aims to honor the typical cultural values of Khanh Hoa and also serves as an activity to celebrate the 18th provincial Party Congress. The show is expected to be compelling and attract interest of tourists in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa. The organization committee will install a system of stands that can accommodate 6,000 seats. From July 20 to August 2, street performance art shows are held at some places along Tran Phu Street.

Reportedly, in 2020, Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee planed to organize a series of events namely Khanh Hoa folk culture festival with 25 activities (music performances, fashion shows, art exhibitions, folk games, and traditional sports activities, etc.) in three days. This plan couldn’t be implemented due to the outbreak of COVID-19. After careful consideration, the committee decided to hold the province’s first-ever folk culture show to create a joyful and cheerful atmosphere for locals and tourists.
