In the past few years, some units under Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports were heavily invested in facilities. This has partly helped to solve difficulties in working conditions so that the units can gradually improve their activities’ quality.

Khanh Hoa Traditional Art Theater has recently been equipped with a sound and lighting system, intended for the theater’s roving art shows throughout the province. With a budget of VND5 billion, the unit was able to buy good quality equipment with relatively modern features to add more effects to the performances.

Around four years ago, with an allocated investment budget of under VND1 billion, the theater could only buy some equipment to replace the damaged ones. Meanwhile, the roving art shows require frequent transport; stages are often installed outdoors. These specific features of roving shows significantly affect the durability of sound and lighting equipment. Most of the theater’s equipment for stage performances had been degraded. After being provided a quite large budget to buy good-quality system of sound and light, Khanh Hoa Traditional Art Theater has effectively used the new equipment in its roving art shows and street art shows.

Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe also often holds roving art shows in remote areas and on Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands. Besides, the troupe is often assigned to organize musical performances at 2-4 Square (Nha Trang City) on occasions of major national festivals and provincial events. Frequent performances gradually reduced the lifespan of the troupe’s equipment. After some proposals, the troupe has been allocated VND5 billion to purchase new system of sound and light.

Reportedly, Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports in recent time has implemented public investment projects from the Stage budget for many units in the cultural sector with a total budget of nearly VND18.6 billion. The department renovated and upgraded the office of the provincial Center of Culture-Cinema (more than VND4.2 billion); repaired the provincial museum (VND996 million); repaired the office of Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe (VND1.2 billion); invested VND1 billion in sound and lighting system of the provincial Center of Culture-Cinema (VND1 billion), and so on.

Through the investment in facilities, many projects have been put into effective use and contributed to create more favorable conditions for the units to carry out their activities and political tasks effectively. The department also proposed the provincial People’s Committee submit the medium-term public investment plan of the cultural and sports sector in the 2021-2025 period to the provincial People’s Council. Accordingly, in this period, there will be 33 projects with a total investment of VND602.6 billion, of which, VND572.6 billion is from the provincial budget and VND30 billion is from sightseeing entrance fees.

While waiting for the investment plan for the future activities of the province’s cultural and sports sector to be approved, the cultural units over the province are making efforts to fulfill their political tasks and gradually improve the quality of performances to serve the public.
