The units and businesses operating in cultural sector in Khanh Hoa Province have been closely monitoring the situation of the 2019-nCoV epidemic and proactively performing prevention and control measures in order to maintain their activities and ensure the health of visitors.

Implementing the telegram No. 36 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on boosting prevention and control measures against the 2019-nCoV acute respiratory disease in cultural activities, Khanh Hoa Provincial Monument Conservation Center temporarily closed Ponagar Temple and Hon Chong tourist site from February 4. During the closure period, cleaning and disinfection were done throughout the two tourist attractions.

Ponagar Temple and Hon Chong tourist site were reopened on February 7 with many precautions being taken in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health. For example, all employees of the two tourist attractions are wearing masks when serving visitors. Notice boards written in Vietnamese, English and Chinese providing information about the 2019-nCoV prevention measures were erected in many places of Ponagar Temple and Hon Chong tourist site.

As said by director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Monument Conservation Center, Tran Dinh Dung, right after reopening, the number of visitors to Ponagar Temple and Hon Chong tourist site reached approximately 15% of the previous time; most of them were from Russia, South Korea and Vietnam. This is a positive sign showing visitors’ trust in the capacity for controlling the epidemic of the tourist attractions managed by the center.

These days, the night art shows of Nha Trang Tre Entertainment Joint Stock Company have been organized as usual at Legend Theatre (62 Thai Nguyen Street, Nha Trang). In order to ensure the health of visitors amid novel coronavirus epidemic, disinfection has been implemented throughout the theatre periodically. Besides offering free masks to its guests, the theatre posted signs providing visitors with information about epidemic prevention such as mask wearing and hand hygiene at its entrance and ticket counter. “The number of visitors has decreased compared to the previous time. Most of the guests are from South Korea and Russia; some of them are from Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Japan, and Vietnam. We have still ensured the quality of our shows and implemented the prevention and control measures as directed by the Ministry of Health,” said Le Kim Nhat, general director of Nha Trang Tre Entertainment Joint Stock Company.

Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports directed its affiliated units to properly and proactively implement the instructions of the Ministry of Health on preventing and controlling the 2019-nCoV epidemic. The units and businesses have to strictly follow the safety regulations when organizing activities joined by many people; closely monitor information about the situation of the 2019-nCoV epidemic to promptly carry out necessary measures. The propaganda on the epidemic and preparatory measures has also been intensified across the province.
