The photo exhibition at Khanh Hoa Museum held lately by Khanh Hoa Association for Literature and Arts included the works of some new photographers. This can be viewed as an encouraging sign for the photography of Khanh Hoa.

The exhibition displayed 62 photographs of 31 photographers in the province. This exhibition not only included the works of the members of the Khanh Hoa Association for Literature and Arts as usual but also featured the works of many unprofessional photographers. These amateur photographers have been doing different jobs, but they have shared an interest in photography. Diep Vi Hoa, one of the unprofessional, sent two of his photos to the exhibition, namely Tram Huong Towel and Nha Trang by night, which he took in 2017 and 2018 respectively. Hoa started to take art photographs in 2015. Hoa has had a passion for photography, but he has not intended to become a professional photographer.

By expanding the exhibition, the organization committee hoped to look for new factors that would contribute to the development of Khanh Hoa’s photography. Many works of the unprofessional photographers depicted the nature and landscape of Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa (sea, sun rise on Nha Trang Bay, Salanganes Island – Hon Noi, etc.) and the daily activities and works of the locals (harvesting cobia, Vinh Truong fish market, new day in Ninh Diem Ward, etc.).

As said by photographic artist Tran Minh Ngoc, Head of the Photography Section under the provincial Association for Literature and Arts, although the themes of the photographs taken by the amateur photographers were not new and diverse, their works had quite good quality in term of layout and color. The expanded exhibition can encourage them to hone their skills to create works with better quality.

The Photography Section of Khanh Hoa Association for Literature and Arts now has 63 members, among them are 38 members of Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists. Reportedly, Khanh Hoa’s photography in recent years has not had outstanding activities and achievements. Last year, Khanh Hoa photographers only got one third prize at the awards of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and three prizes at the international contest. In this juncture, the expanded photo exhibition of Khanh Hoa Literature and Art Association can be considered as a way to foster the development of the province’s photography.
