The 14th public art festival of Nha Trang is organized at 2-4 Square (Nha Trang) from July 18 to 21. This is a festival where the non-professional art groups over Khanh Hoa can show their interest in music and perform their skills.
The 2018 festival is joined by 13 public art groups from eight localities and units over Khanh Hoa (High Command of Naval Region 4, Khanh Hoa Provincial Military Headquarters, provincial Border Guard Headquarters, provincial Association of Veterans, Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 4).
The Nha Trang public art festival is organized every two years to create a rendezvous for the amateur artists to exchange and learn experience and art skills from each other. The festival, as said by Le Van Hoa, Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, also aims to partly increase the quality of the cultural life in the locality as well as to find the new art talents.

According to Van Dinh An, Director of Khanh Hoa Cultural Center – the 2018 festival’s main organization unit, in order to ensure the quality of the festival, prior to the opening of the festival, the organization committee assessed the repertoires of the participants and suggested some ideas to perfect the items. The Cultural Center also provided professional support and lent its place to help the units to stage good quality acts. As assessed by the center, most of the repertoires had a good content and reflected quite vividly the characteristics of the units.
Khanh Viet Corporation and Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company, the two regular participants at the previous festivals, do not attend this year’s festival. Some units like the provincial Border Guard Headquarters showed their enthusiasm and actively prepared for the festival although they were also focusing on their own sports and cultural activities.
The closing and awarding ceremony of the 2018 public art festival of Khanh Hoa will take place on July 21. Five A prizes are planned to be awarded to five most excellent groups.
